Shrimp on a treadmill

So um, I've been busy and obviously not posting in about a year or so. However, I am SEIZED BY A DESIRE TO TALK ABOUT FISH/STUFF THAT LIVES IN THE WATER. So as an appetizer before I cobble together and fling a proper post at the blog, here is some old but still wonderful news.

a) the infamous shrimp on the treadmill

b) NPR story with the researcher responsible for Treadmill Shrimp (Dr. Louis Burnett of the College of Charleston) that more generally talks about non-scientists whining about "frivolous science" and why They Are Wrong (also, why shrimp were not put on treadmills merely because it is hilarious

c) Dr. Burnett's Shrimp & Crab Treadmill Studies page, which provide links to his actual publications, more (music-less, tragically) videos of his running shrimp and his under-publicized CRAB TREADMILLS!

COMING SOON, WHICH IS A RELATIVE TERM: THINGS WITH CREEPY EYES BECAUSE I LIKE THE WAY THEY MAKE ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE! ANCIENT NEAR EASTERN FISHLORE!
